Paper Bead Curtain - This Is A Throwback!

This is a project that I haven't finished, but would love to sometime in the future.

Paper Bead Curtain

First of all, do you remember making paper beads as a little kid?! I loved it! I had this little toy thing that helped you make them too. Anyway, I saw paper beads mentioned somewhere and it brought back great memories of making them as a child.

I've been looking for a way to conceal some of my closet since it's a built-in with no doors. I came up with the idea of a paper bead curtain, and hung a shower rod inside the top of my closet. I made the beads by cutting up pieces of magazine that looked awesome, and made long triangular strips. Then I used Elmer's School Glue to roll them up and harden them. I strung them on thread, putting round beads and sequins between all of the paper beads to make them hang straighter.

Change Jar - Loose Change...Finder's Keepers!

Here's another recycled magazine project of mine.

Change Jar

This was originally a jug of cheap wine, until I peeled off the label and cleaned the glass with Goo Gone.

Then I cut out a bunch of letters from magazines, making sure that when they were arranged the right way none of the letters next to each other were too similar.

Finally, I used Modge Podge and a foam brush to apply them to the jug, and put an extra few coats over the top.

Magazine Chair - From White to Bright!

I used to have piles of magazines laying around my room, and I hated the thought of just throwing them out. I was bored one day and decided my plain white chair needed a little something extra; ever since, I've been obsessed with finding new ways to reuse my magazines and make something awesome with them.

Rear View

This was my first project that I used old magazines for. I started it about 5 years ago and gradually worked on it for about a year afterwards. I just cut out colors, patterns, pictures and words that caught my attention as I went through a magazine and used a combination of Elmer's School Glue and water to adhere the cut-outs to the chair with a foam brush. I also put a few layers over the entire section when I was done so it would stay there and look neat.

What It's All About

I like to think of myself as a creative person. I enjoy all sorts of crafts; sewing, decoupage, candle making, beading, and many other things of that nature.

I also tend to have a million ideas in my head at once, all the time. Usually a large amount of these ideas are for projects I want to start.

This bog will hopefully be a way for me to get my thoughts in one place, and keep them there so I can go back to them later if need be.
